Capture Chamber

Capture Chamber Pump (CC) — for high gas-liquid ratio wells

ELSI Capture Chamber (CC) pump is designed to increase the pumping efficiency in high gas-liquid ratio (GLR) wells, eliminating gas lock and fluid pound. Each stroke, a small amount of fluid is transferred from tubing into the compression chamber of the pump. At the same time, an equivalent volume of free gas escapes into the tubing. A proper spacing between the traveling and standing valves maximizes the compression ratio and allows the fluid transfer on each stroke.

Bore sizes:1-1/4"1-1/2"1-3/4"2-1/4"
Designations:JHAC / JHBC (cup) · JHAM / JHBM (mechanical)

Key Features

Hold-down type: API cups or API mechanical
Available in top anchor (JHA) and bottom anchor (JHB) configurations
Capture chamber between dual barrel assemblies
Plunger holes allow fluid to drain onto standing valve

Advantages

  • Eliminates gas lock

Capture chamber transfers fluid from tubing each stroke while venting equivalent free gas volume.

  • Eliminates fluid pound

Maximized compression ratio through proper valve spacing prevents fluid pound conditions.

  • High GLR well specialist

Purpose-designed for wells with high gas-liquid ratio where conventional pumps fail.

  • Top or bottom anchor options

JHA (top anchor) for sandy wells, JHB (bottom anchor) for deep wells — both with capture chamber technology.

Balanced Pressure

Balanced Pressure Pump (BP) — tapered barrel, eliminates gas lock

Balanced Pressure Pump is a tapered barrel pump which balances the pressure below and above the plunger near the top of the upstroke. This design feature eliminates the need for the plunger to compress the fluid-gas mixture during the downstroke. The actual tapered part is only 9' long and is installed above the standard RH barrel and below the standard RH upper extension, maintaining the stroke-through feature of the RH pump.

Bore sizes:1-1/4"1-1/2"1-3/4"2-1/4"

Key Features

Balanced Pressure Extension in brass or alloy steel with nickel carbide coating, or alloy steel boronized ID
Precision honed, optimized taper for wide variety of fluid viscosities
Standard RH Pump thread connections — direct retrofit
Available in RH pump configuration with multiple materials and coatings

Advantages

  • Raises MPRL for longer rod life

Pressure balance near top of stroke reduces maximum polished rod load, extending sucker rod service life.

  • Eliminates fluid and gas pound

Tapered barrel design balances pressure, removing the need to compress fluid-gas mixture on downstroke.

  • Eliminates gas lock

Pressure equalization prevents gas lock conditions that disable conventional pumps.

  • Reduces downstroke compression

Reduces bowing of valve rod and sucker rods on downstroke, extending rod and tubing life.

Gas Compressor

Gas Compressor Pump (GC) — 2-stage compression for extreme gas handling

ELSI Gas Compressor Pump is designed for extreme gas handling demands and is effective in overcoming gas locking in deep wells. Its robust construction and 2-stage compression design efficiently moves gas through the pump — particularly important when pumping beneath a packer. The first stage compresses gas-containing fluid between standing valve and lower travelling valve on downstroke. The second stage compresses fluid through the port assembly and upper travelling valve on upstroke, lifting it out of the pump.

Bore sizes:1-1/4"1-1/2"1-3/4"

Key Features

2-stage compression provides enhanced gas handling
Mercury style plunger for improved rigidity and wear resistance
Precision plunger-to-barrel fits with highly wear-resistant finishes for both compression stages
Upgradable materials for enhanced corrosion resistance

Advantages

  • Eliminates gas lock

2-stage compression design moves gas efficiently through the pump even in the most demanding conditions.

  • Extreme depth capability

Can be run at extreme depths, up to 4,000 meters.

  • Pumps beneath packer

Robust gas handling enables effective operation below a packer where gas accumulation is critical.

  • Increases oil and gas production

Increased pump efficiency through 2-stage compression and rigid mercury-style plunger design.

  • Reduces compression rod loading

Stronger design compared to other gas handling pumps, reducing stress on sucker rod string.
